1 And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them, “Reproduce, become many, and fill the earth. 2 And the fear of you and the terror of you will be on every animal of the earth, and on every bird of the sky, on everything that scurries on the ground, and on all the fish of the sea. They are given into your hand. 3 Every moving animal that lives is food for you. As I gave you the green plants, I have given everything to you. 4 But flesh with its life, its blood, do not eat. 5 But I will require an accounting for your blood of your lives. From the hand of every animal I will require and accounting for it, and from the hand of man. From the hand of man’s brother, I will require an accounting the life of man.
6 Whoever spills man’s blood,
his blood will be spilled by man,
for in the shape of God
He made man.
7 And you, reproduce and become many.
Increase abundantly on the earth,
and become many on it.”
8 And God spoke to Noah and to his sons with him, saying, 9 “And as for Me, look, I establish My contract with you, and with your offspring after you, 10 and with every living creature that is with you: the birds, the large animals, and every animal of the earth with you, of all that go out of the ship, with every animal of the earth. 11 And I will establish my contract with you: All flesh will not be cut off again by the waters of the flood, and there will never again be a flood to bring ruin on the earth.” 12 And God said, “This is the sign of the contract which I make between Me and you and every living creature that is with you, for age-enduring generations: 13 I set my rainbow in the cloud, and it will be a sign of a contract between Me and the earth. 14 And it will be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow will be seen in the cloud. 15 And I will remember My contract, which is between Me and you and every living creature—all flesh: never again will the waters become a flood to bring ruin on all flesh. 16 And the rainbow will be in the cloud, and I will look at it, to remember the age-enduring contract between God and every living creature—all flesh that is on the earth.” 17 And God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the contract which I have established between Me and all flesh that is on the earth.”
18 Now the sons of Noah who went out from the ship were Shem, Ham, and Yefet. (And Ham is the father of Canaan.) 19 These three were the sons of Noah, and from these mankind was scattered over the whole earth.
20 Now Noah began to be a farmer, and planted a vineyard. 21 And he drank of the wine and got drunk. And he uncovered himself inside his tent. 22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father’s nakedness, and told his two brothers outside. 23 And Shem and Yefet took the garment, and put it on both their shoulders, went in backwards, and covered the nakedness of their father. And their faces were backwards, and they didn’t see their father’s nakedness. 24 And Noah woke up from his wine, and knew what his youngest son* had done to him. 25 And he said,
“May Canaan be cursed!
He will be a servant of servants to his brothers.”
26 And he said,
“May Yehovah be blessed, the God of Shem,
and may Canaan be their servant!
27 May God extend Yefet,
and may he live in the tents of Shem,
and may Canaan be their servant!”
28 And Noah lived 350 years after the flood. 29 And all the days of Noah were 950 years, and then he died.
