When Will Jesus Return?
Many people have predicted Jesus would return on a specific date, but they have all been wrong.
Does that mean it is impossible to know when Jesus will come?
Jesus said, “of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only” (Matthew 24:36, NKJV).
But in the book of Revelation and a few other places, He gave detailed information about an exact sequence of events that would happen before He would appear, and He said, “when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the very doors!” (Matthew 24:33).
When Jesus returns, the world will be surprised. But His followers should not be surprised.
The Apostle Paul wrote: “For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, ‘Peace and safety!’ then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief” (1 Thessalonians 5:2-4).
Jesus wants you to recognize the signs that will happen before He returns, so you won’t be deceived.
In fact, when Christ’s disciples asked about the sign of His coming, Jesus said, “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many” (Matthew 24:4-5)
This deception is the first sign that Jesus will return soon.
Someone will come who claims to be “the Christ”—the one who has been anointed to rule the world and lead Christianity.
Most will be deceived. But you should not be deceived. You should recognize this man as a false Christ—an antichrist. If you haven’t seen my video explaining how to recognize this person, you can watch it on YouTube.
After this man comes, there will be war, famine, and plagues that will cause 25% of people on earth to die. Then comes the Great Tribulation—not for 7 years as many people think, but for 2½ years. In my prophecy challenge, I show where you can find these prophecies in your own Bible.
Next will be “the Day of the Lord,” which will be one year long (Isaiah 34:8).
During that year there will be seven trumpet plagues (Revelation 8-9). And finally, when the last trumpet is blown, everyone on earth will see Jesus coming in the clouds (Revelation 11:15; Matthew 24:30).
God created the Feast of Trumpets to teach us about the time when Jesus will return with the sound of a trumpet.
The Jews call this day “Rosh Hashana,” which means “beginning of the year.” And indeed, it will be the beginning of a new age, when “The kingdom of this world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” (Revelation 11:15).
This Feast of Trumpets is a good day to learn about the signs of Christ’s return. You can find a list of scriptures that show the meaning of this day here.
So let us rejoice on this day, knowing that the time that Jesus is coming to rule the world is coming closer!
